Information Regarding Winter Break Withdrawal and Accommodation Fee Payment for Spring Semester 2024, Please Read!

Dear students:

Tuition fee payment for Spring Semester 2024 starts on Feb. 1. Please pay attention to the following information regarding winter break withdrawal and accommodation fee payment/refund:

 

  1. Those who will not be accommodated during Spring 2024, please apply for withdrawal online(https://housing.ntu.edu.tw/) before January 11 and complete the checkout process by January 31.
  2. The Student Housing Service Division will produce the accommodation fee for Spring Semester 2024 on January 12. Those who apply for dorm withdrawal after January 12,  if you still see the accommodation fee on the tuition payment form, please do not pay. Please contact the Student Housing Service Division via email or phone to annul your accommodation fee and confirm that the accommodation fee is zero; then, you may proceed with payment.
  3. From the second semester of the 2023-2024 academic year, Executive Yuan will subsidize the accommodation fee of on-campus dormitories for local students. General students receive a subsidy of $5000 for semester dorm fees, and middle-low/low-income families receive a subsidy of $7000 for semester dorm fees. The subsidy will be directly deducted from your accommodation fee; please confirm whether the fee on the tuition payment form is correct.
  • Only semester dorm fees are subsidized; the summer accommodation fee will not be waived.
  • If your enrollment status is overseas Chinese or international, but you possess the nationality of the Republic of China, please send the image file of your ID card to the NTU Student Housing Service Division.
  • The subsidy amount will be calculated based on the number of weeks for those who move in or out during the semester.
  • The semester dorm fees and the summer accommodation fee for students from low-income families and publicly funded students are still zero.
  • The semester dorm fees for students from middle-low income families will be deducted by $7000, and the summer accommodation fee will remain reduced by 30%. 
  1. If you have any inquiries about the fee amount, please do not pay. Please contact the Student Housing Service Division first to clarify any problems before completing payment.
  2. Information regarding payment of summer accommodation fee:
  • Summer accommodation fee will be included in your tuition payment form first. (Exchange students, Taipei City and New Taipei City short-term residents, and students living in the Freshmen Women Dorm or 1st Men Dorm are ineligible for summer accommodation. Those who need to reside during the summer must apply for summer accommodation separately).
  • Summer accommodation for the second semester of the 2023-2024 academic year starts on June 16(Sun.) and ends August 10(Sat.), graduating students and students with expired accommodation periods must move out before August 10. Other residents may continue to reside.
  • If you move out before June 15(Sat.), empty your room, and return your key, the summer accommodation fee will be fully refunded.
  • If you move out after June 16(Sun.), your summer accommodation fee will be refunded according to the remaining weeks you may still be accommodated. Sunday to Saturday counts as one week. Less than a week will be counted as one week.
  1. Details regarding accommodation fee payment/refund for Spring Semester 2024:
  • Semester accommodation fee period: February 11 to June 15, 18 weeks
  • Summer accommodation fee period: June 16 to August 10, 8 weeks

Q&A

  1. I've already paid my summer accommodation fee, but at the end of the semester, I realized I don't need to reside during the summer. What do I do?

A: Go to https://housing.ntu.edu.tw/ and select “Application for Summer Accommodation Withdrawal” or “Application for dorm withdrawal” to check out and apply for a refund.

 

  1. Should I choose “Application for Summer Accommodation Withdrawal” or “Application for dorm withdrawal”?

A: Graduating students or those not returning to the dorm, please choose “Application for dorm withdrawal.” The summer accommodation fee will be entirely or partially refunded, and the deposit will be refunded.

Those who are not accommodated during summer accommodation and will return to the original room after the summer, please choose “Application for Summer Accommodation Withdrawal.” Your summer accommodation fee will be refunded either entirely or partially.

“Application for Summer Accommodation Withdrawal” will open starting May. 1.

 

  1. What should I pay attention to if I don't reside during the summer?

A: Be sure to apply for summer accommodation withdrawal, empty your bed space, and return your key before Jun. 17. You can move back in one week before school starts in the fall.

 

  1. I already know I won't reside during the summer. Do I still have to pay the accommodation fee now?

A: Please pay the accommodation fee first. It will be refunded when we have confirmed you have applied for withdrawal and moved out.

 

  1. How do I apply for summer accommodation if I live in the Freshmen Women Dorm or 1st Men Dorm?

A: These two dorm directors will announce the protocol for application near the end of the spring semester; after application success, you only need to complete payment.
